Worldwide, there is a wide variance in local laws and customs regarding the powers and responsibilities of a mayor.
Biography
Prior to 2023, the now Deputy Mayor ( Mr. Sheku Kamara), was the Principal of Experimental Secondary School situated in Koidu City, Tankoro Chiefdom-Kono District (2015- 2022). Besides, the above named Secondary School was not the first Secondary School he has served as Principal in Kono and Koidu to be specific. Ansarul Islamic Secondary School was the maiden school where he was appointed as Principal, (2007- 2014).
Quite apart from being a Principal, he also taught in the same institution as a teacher for a considerable period of time. He gained much more popularity because of his service as a teacher in the same academic institution where he later became a principal. Moreover, his magnanimity and display of high
leadership prowess, couple with the number of years he has spent as Principal in the aforementioned schools, paved the pathway to the pinnacle where he is today.
